A Top End woman who allegedly preyed on a child will face court for multiple child exploitation offences, following a police sting that also busted two men.

Police raided a Farrar home earlier this month, seizing several electronic devices for analysis.

After initial investigations, a crime scene was also declared at a Johnson home on October 22, with several more pieces of evidence seized.

As a result the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) arrested a 29-year-old woman and charged her with five counts of producing child abuse material, gross indecency with a child under 14, and indecent touching or act with a child under 14.

She was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on January 15, 2025.

Her arrest comes after two men were charged in relation to the same operation, following raids on homes in Farrar and Karama.

A 32-year-old man was charged with gross indecency with a child under 14, producing child abuse material, possessing child abuse material, and destroying evidence.

A 26-year-old man allegedly transmitted child abuse material, possessed or controlled child abuse material, and transmitted indecent communication to a child.

Superintendent Paul Morrissey said the alleged crimes were “reprehensible”.

“To view, possess or create child abuse material is a disgraceful crime, and NT Police and JACET will continue to target those who are involved in such offending,” he said.

“Our message is simple – you will be caught, and you will be prosecuted for engaging in these reprehensible crimes.”
