Vegan activist Tash Peterson kicked out of Crown Perth

The woman known for her provocative animal rights protests claims she was barred from a Perth venue but says she “did nothing” to deserve the ban.

A vegan activist has revealed she was kicked out of Perth’s Crown casino after learning she is under an indefinite ban from being on the premises despite “doing nothing”.

Tash Peterson shared two TikTok videos of her being removed from a stay at the luxury venue on Saturday, revealing she has been barred over concerns of “undesirable behaviour”.

Ms Peterson, 30, said she and partner Jack Higgs had planned to stay for the weekend before staff knocked on the door to tell them she had to leave.

“We’ve just arrived at the Crown Towers Hotel, and they’ve come knocking on the door to say that I’ve been permanently banned from Crown since September 2021,” she said.

“And they’re only just serving it on me now, three years later.

“And so essentially, we have to pack our s*** up and leave.”

The video then cut to Ms Peterson being escorted through a hallway by hotel staff, with the activist saying: “We’ve been kicked out for doing nothing, for giving them our money to stay in a hotel for two nights, and now we’re being kicked out.”

“It’s pretty f***ed,” she said.

She went on to say the staycation was to celebrate Mr Higgs’ birthday, and that she had not been to the venue for several years.

“I can’t remember the last time I came to Crown, like to go out,” she said.

“I think I was like 18 years old maybe the last time I came here, to go to the casino. Didn’t do anything wrong. There was no incidents whatsoever when I came.”

She said Crown had reimbursed the costs of the couple’s booking.

Mr Higgs said the couple had only been at the venue for two hours and his partner had been banned “just because of who Tash is”.

“This was meant to be a business thing as well,” he said.

“We (were) gonna film content, we had everything planned.

“We’ve taken our weekend out for this.”

Ms Peterson said paperwork given to her listed the reason for her barring was concerns over “undesirable behaviour”.

Crown Resorts has been contacted for comment.

Ms Peterson is known for her provocative animal rights stunts targeting restaurants and clothing stores selling animal products.

She drew the ire of British media personality Piers Morgan in a fiery interview last year, with the TV host taking exception to Ms Peterson’s shirt referring to the slaughter of animals as a “holocaust”.

Last week Ms Peterson revealed she had been banned from leaving Western Australia for six months under a court order imposed on sentence for a protest in Perth last year.

The animal rights protester pleaded guilty to two trespass and disorderly behaviour charges last month for two separate stand-offs at Fyre restaurant in Connolly.

The incidents stemmed from owner John Mountain’s decision to ban vegans from his eatery “due to mental health reasons”, after a negative review was left by a plant-based diner.

She was fined $2300, plus court costs, and ordered to complete 30 hours of community service during a six-month community-based order.
