A three-year old boy was left injured on the side of a road in an alleged hit and run, police say.

A three-year old boy was left injured on the side of a road in an alleged hit and run by a person who fled the scene of the crash.

Police believe a person in a blue vehicle struck the child on The Strand in Bayswater, in Perth’s east between 12.30pm and 1pm on Friday.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to stop at the scene.

The toddler was found injured alongside the road with a serious leg injury and was taken to the Perth Children’s Hospital by his family.

Police are urging anyone who was driving a blue vehicle in the area at the time to come forward and contact Crime Stopper.

They would also like anyone with vision of the crash or of a blue vehicle being driven in the area at the time of the crash to upload their footage to police.
