The “Sexy SWAT” stripper who caused chaos in the Perth CBD when he carried a fake assault rifle has been fined as his two-year court battle comes to an end.
Chad Satchell, a blast technician who also runs an adult entertainment business, was on King St when he took a gel blaster out of his car while getting dressed for a performance for 50 women on a party bus in 2022.
The 32-year-old claimed he thought the banned weapon was a “replica” and also referred to it as a “toy gun” that he had held briefly.
He got dressed in black clothing, including a vest that had “The Chad” on the front and “SWAT” on the back.
But police soon swooped after receiving multiple triple-0 calls from members of the public and arrested him.
Satchell was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and arming himself in a way that may have caused fear.
He stood trial in Perth Magistrates Court last year and Magistrate Sarah Oliver reserved her decision.
On Thursday, he was found guilty of possessing a prohibited weapon but acquitted of the other charge. He was fined $500.
He was awarded costs of $2500 and granted a spent conviction.
