Police search for owner of ashes in container left on bus

A container of ashes with ‘Ranga’ written on it has been left on a city bus, with police now hoping to reunite the remains with a loved one.

A container of ashes has been found on a bus in Perth, with police now trying to find the person who left it there.

The word ‘Ranga’ is written on the container, along with the dates 24/4/77 and 29/4/23.

The ashes were found on a bus in Rockingham, in Perth’s southern suburbs.

A WA Police spokesperson said a Transperth staff member took the container to the Rockingham Police station after it was left on a bus on Saturday, February 24.

Police believe the person may have been on the bus travelling between Rockingham and Fremantle on route 549, but they were not certain.

Police would like to find the owner of the ashes and reunite them with the container.
