‘Out in the cold, lost’: DJ Nada Rokic, 22, found after vanishing from bush party in WA’s Wheatbelt region

A desperate search for a DJ missing from a bush party has ended, with the 22-year-old miraculously surviving two nights in the freezing cold.

The Missing: Gordana Kotevski

The desperate search for a 22-year-old woman, who spent two freezing nights missing in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region, has had a happy ending.

Nada Rokic was on Monday located alive and well after last being seen at bushland party in North Bannister, about 94km southeast of Perth, late on Saturday evening.

It’s understood she wasn’t wearing any shoes when she vanished from the area, which dropped down to single-digit temperatures on Saturday and Sunday nights.

The Bureau of Meteorology reported an overnight low of 6.3C at nearby Wandering about 3am on Sunday.

The temperature dropped further to 2.5C about 9.30pm on Sunday.

WA Police late on Monday said Ms Rokic had been found “safe and well,” with more detail to be provided at a media conference in coming hours.

Her Facebook profile indicates Ms Rokic is a DJ performing under the name ELKHEY. She is employed as a mental health support worker.

Friends of the Perth DJ, and those in the local DJ community, posted on social media to try to help find Ms Rokic.

“Nada is out in the cold, lost and she needs our help,” posted Bianca Jervis to her Facebook page on Monday morning, hours before her friend would be found.

“Even with people looking, she’s probably way too low on energy to call out for help.”

The event Ms Rokic attended, Twisted Arcade, is what’s colloquially referred to as a “bush doof”.

The events, typically featuring trance, trap, deep techno and other sorts of fast-paced EDM, are held in bushland and other rural areas to avoid noise restrictions.

Wandering Shire president Ian Turton told the ABC the area in which the event was held was near part of the 1000km-long Bibbulmun Track.

“It was pretty miserable last night, the temperature got down between two and five degrees,” Mr Turton said.

“There were misty conditions and the days are the shortest of the year, it would've been a long night.

“I hope she’s found safe; sometimes these things are a real concern for families involved.”
