Man dies after being found seriously injured in street, teen charged with murder

A man has died after being found with serious injuries in a suburban street, with a teenager now charged with his murder.

A man has died after being found with serious injuries on a suburban street in Perth’s east, with an 18-year-old now charged with his murder.

The man, 33, was found at the corner of the Great Northern Highway and Margaret St in Midland at about 5pm on Thursday.

He was rushed to St John of God Midland Hospital, but later died.

After days of investigation, WA Police confirmed on Saturday that an 18-year-old had been charged with the man’s murder.

He was due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Witnesses described the harrowing scene earlier this week, claiming the man’s loved ones watched on as paramedics tried to save him.

“It was awful watching her,” one witness told 9News.

“She went from disbelief to shock, to distraught. My heart was breaking for her.”

A second crime scene was established a few hundred metres away at a property on Dudley Str, where neighbours reported hearing a commotion at the same time.

The connection between the two scenes remains unclear.
