Critically injured man found on highway, second man arrested

A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital with life threatening head and leg injuries after he was found on a busy road about 11.20am on Monday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving a report of a disturbance on West Coast Highway near the Boulevard in City Beach, an affluent area in Perth’s western suburbs.

A man in his 20s was found with serious head and leg injuries.

St John Ambulance sent three crews to the incident including paramedics from critical care and special operations.

He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have taken another man in his 20s into custody.

The stretch of highway where the incident took place is closed to traffic as police carryout their investigation and search the surrounding area.

Blood splats and personal items can be seen covering the road.

Police have asked anyone with vision relating of the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
