Two men allegedly attempt to rob petrol station

Shocking CCTV footage has captured the moment two men, one armed with a large knife, allegedly raided a petrol station in Western Australia before smashing through a glass door as they escaped.

Western Australia Police shared the footage, which shows the moment the two men, dressed in dark-coloured hoodies, entered a petrol station in Carine, 16km from Perth, at about 10:50pm on April 26.

Police said one of the pair approached the front counter while brandishing a large weapon and demanded cash from the store.

In the footage, a worker standing behind the counter is seen running to safety as the man approaches and points the knife in his direction.

The man then appears to slide on the front counter, pulling himself across, on his stomach.

Moments later, the pair are seen trying to escape through the front door which appears to have been locked.

Unable to open the door, the men kick and punch the glass before it shatters, and they flee the scene on foot.

The duo managed to steal a number of food and drink items, police said, with footage showing a can of Pringles and a bottle of milk among the stash.

One of the men appeared to take a tumble and drop some of the food on his way out.

Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad are currently investigating the aggravated armed robbery and are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the two people involved.
