Boy, 17, charged with alleged hit and run murder of Perth woman

A teenager has been charged with the murder of a woman in an alleged hit and run on an arterial road.

A teenager has been charged with murder after a woman’s body was found following an alleged hit and run on an arterial road in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Rebecca Collard, 48, was found unresponsive shortly before 1am on October 4 near the intersection of Wanneroo Rd and Nollamara Ave at Balcatta.

Homicide detectives on Thursday charged a 17-year-old boy with murder.

Police allege the teen “deliberately drove a vehicle” at Ms Collard, causing her death.

The teen, from Balga in the city’s north, will front the Perth Children’s Court on Thursday.
