12yo boy hit by car at popular tourist site

A 12-year-old boy has been left fighting for his life after he was hit by a car at a popular tourist spot south of Perth.

A 12-year-old boy is fighting for life after being hit by a car along a popular Western Australia tourist route.

The child was struck by a Toyota Prado on Caves Road in Marybrook about 5.40pm on Thursday evening.

It’s understood he was running across the road.

He was flown to Perth Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, suffering serious injuries.

The tourist road, Caves Road, is a 111km coastal scenic route and often attracts heavy traffic during the Easter long weekend and other breaks.

Major crash detectives are investigating the incident.
