A group of arsonists are at large after a firebombing a shop in the city’s north overnight.

A group of arsonists are on the run after a firebombing in Melbourne’s north on Sunday morning.

Police are investigating the suspicious Mernda shop fire after reports of a blaze at a local business at about 2am.

It is believed that the shop on Breadalbane Avenue was targeted by unknown offenders who smashed a window of the business before setting the building on fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, confirming no reports of injuries.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
