Live streaming: Boroondara Express, City West Falcons to open expanded Victorian Netball League season

The best two teams from 2023 will take centre stage to open a massive expanded season of the Victorian Netball League live and exclusive on our coverage. Can the Express exact their revenge?

KommunityTV is back streaming the best netball action in Victoria, and we're returning in the only way we know how. 

 

Our exclusive weekly coverage of the Victorian Netball League will get underway on March 6 with a blockbuster Championship grand final rematch between City West Falcons and Boroondara Express. 

It is part of our refreshed coverage of the the revamped Victorian Netball League, which will include an exclusive Under-23 and Championship double-header live streamed every Wednesday on the Herald Sun and Geelong Advertiser websites. 

KommunityTV cameras will also be going on the road with the VNL for the competition's two regional rounds in Round 12 and 19. Our full season live stream schedule will be available soon, check out a sneak peek of the first five rounds below.

The Express, who were the feel-good story of the 2023 VNL season after surging into the finals, will not have to wait long to exact their grand final revenge against reigning champions Falcons.

The VNL will move to a 22-round season to accommodate the arrival of three new regional-based clubs including the Bendigo Strikers, Gippsland Stars and Western Warriors.

The three clubs, who will join the VNL ranks for the first time in 2024, were included in a raft of sweeping competition changes made in the off-season.

The expansion into regional Victoria will also include matches taken to regional hubs including home fixtures to be played in Bendigo, Traralgon and Ballarat.

The Western Warriors will begin their inaugural VNL campaign against Peninsula Waves, while the Bendigo Strikers will clash with Wilson Storage Southern Saints in the opening round.

The Gippsland Stars, who will only feature an Under-23 side in their first foray into the state league, will start the season against the North East Blaze. Championship teams drawn to face the Stars during the season, will have a bye that round.

The earlier start date for the Victorian Netball League will accommodate all 22 rounds of the season, before a three week finals series begins on Wednesday, July 24.

The season will culminate with the grand finals night on Wednesday, August 7.

Netball Victoria’s Pride Round will return in Round 11 with all teams set to play at the State Netball Centre, while First Nations Round will be held in Round 14 in line with National Reconciliation Week.
