Jock Zonfrillo’s widow Lauren Fried has revealed how their little boy wants her to do ‘Papa activities’

Jock Zonfrillo’s grieving widow has revealed the “Papa activities” their young son has missed most after his dad’s shock death.

Jock Zonfrillo’s widow has opened up on how she is trying to fill her late husband’s shoes with their little boy Alfie by doing his favourite “Papa activities” with him.

The mother of Jock’s two youngest children, Alfie, 5, and Isla, 2, Lauren Fried (who calls herself Iz), also shared a heartbreaking photo and memory of the day the late MasterChef judge proposed to her in the Scottish highlands, seven years ago.

“He took me on a 4WD adventure from Loch Lomond, up some hectic winding roads, to the top of a windy mountain. Down on one knee, he asked that we give our future children the opportunity to love and enjoy Scotland as we did, he also proclaimed that he loved me more than Tunnocks Caramel Logs (which is a lot!). lz,” Lauren posted on Instagram.

Fellow MasterChef judge Andy Allen replied to the post saying “and he did”.

Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and Australian actor Rebecca Gibney were among others who replied, posting love hearts.

But it was a later post, revealing how Lauren was now trying to be both mother and father to their young children that was perhaps most heartbreaking.

“Alfie has asked me to do some of his Papa activities with him – making crepes and doing hours of Lego were in his requests. I went with the easiest option of a trip to the barber, which the boys used to do together, followed by gelato. It put a smile on his face which was beautiful. lz,” she said, sharing photos of the day’s activities.

Zonfrillo was tragically found dead in a Carlton hotel room on April 30.

Allen told The Project after his friend and colleague’s shock death Lauren was the strongest woman he had ever met, “but she’s lost her best friend”.

Allen also revealed he had enjoyed a three-hour lunch with Zonfrillo on the Saturday before his friend was found dead.

Allen became emotional, adding he wished it had been Lauren and the kids having lunch with Zonfrillo that day rather than him.
