Two in life-threatening condition after crash on Rifle Range Rd, Pimpama

One person needed to be cut from the wreckage after a two-car collision at the Gold Coast. Now, both drivers are fighting for their life in hospital.

Two people are fighting for life in hospital after two cars collided in a head-on crash on the Gold Coast on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to Rifle Range Rd at Pimpama just before 7.30am.

A fire and rescue crew worked quickly to free a woman in her 20s from the wreckage, a Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said five paramedic crews also attended.

He said a man and woman were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
