WARNING: Bruce blocked, Rollingstone crash

UPDATE 3pm:

Two men have been transported to Townsville University after experiencing back pain when the truck they were travelling in rolled on the Bruce Hwy.

Queensland Ambulance said one patient is in his late 70s, the other’s age is unconfirmed.

Police say highway traffic is still being affected by the crash, but a tow truck has arrived on scene.

UPDATE 2pm:

The Bruce Hwy is blocked and Queensland Police are diverting small vehicles around Rollingstone after a truck rollover.

According to police information, the truck is around 4.5 tonne and was carrying wood on the back when it rolled.

Queensland Ambulance said their paramedics are attending two men who were inside the truck.

Both men are stable and being assessed on the side of the road.

PREVIOUSLY:

Early reports suggest a car has rolled on the Bruce Hwy in Rollingstone just after 1pm.

Emergency services are rushing to the scene, and southbound traffic is believed to be blocked or impacted.

The crash is located very close to the Rollingstone Hotel.

QFES said they understood a “small Toyota truck” has rolled at the Rollingstone pub, but their crews were yet to reach the accident and confirm the details.

Queensland Ambulance said one of their paramedics had reached the scene “about two minutes ago” and they reported the truck driver had self-extricated themselves from the wreck.
