Located next to a bustling, hardworking gym sits a quaint coffee spot that welcomes not only its fitness lovers but workers on the go and mums who need a place to sit and enjoy a drink while their kids relax.

Two years ago The Huni Pot opened its doors to its caravan-style coffee shop to offer gym goers something to sip on after their work out, and since then its turned into a successful caffeine and frappé hit for all.

Owner Zoe Huni said she opened it at a time there weren’t many coffee stops in Aitkenvale.

“When we opened it we thought coffee but actually our signature drinks are protein frappés, just by way of natural progression,” she said.

“We’ve created low calories, nice tasting, and high-protein frappés.”

A fun addition to the coffee spot is the pre-order board in which gym lovers can write their order to have ready by the time class is finished.

According to the fitness centre and cafe owner Mrs Huni, the crowd pleasing flavour is the salted caramel frappé, followed by chocolate and the menu offers a new flavour of the month.

“We’ve also created a calorie-reduced version of that so when people are trying to be extra fit, and they can have added protein,” she said.

“For women it can be a hard thing to get into their diet and they can add a shot of coffee, we have a lot of mums and as we know coffee is life.”

When it comes to what makes The Huni Pot unique, the owner said it was down to combining health and a relaxing space.

“It’s very comfortable for anyone to come by, men, women whoever,” she said.

“It’s relaxed, outdoors, we do have big shade sails as well as the umbrellas and a lot of our seating is all recycled so we’ve created palette seating, cable drum seats, we’ve tried to keep it with reusable items and it’s very kid friendly you can make a mess out there and it’s absolutely fine.”

The Huni Pot’s trading hours are from Tuesday to Friday, 6am-11am and Saturday 6am-10:30am located at 14 Madden Street, Aitkenvale next to Women’s Fitness Studio.
