Teenager boys charged for stealing Toyota LandCruisers in Mount Isa

Another boy has been charged in relation to an alleged crime spree involving multiple stolen cars in Mount Isa.

Police have charged another boy over a series of property crime offences in Mount Isa this month.

The boy, aged 12 from Winston, has been charged with multiple offences including enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, wilful damage, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and publishing it on social media, obstruction a police officer, enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

This comes after four other teenage boys, aged between 14 and 16, were charged with 51 offences including enter and commit and enter with intent, wilful damage, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The 12-year-old boy was denied bail and is due to appear in Mount Isa Children’s Court today

Teens charged for stealing car, dumping it in street

Four teenagers have been charged with 51 offences across two separate incidents where cars were stolen from Mount Isa properties before they dumped the damaged vehicles on the street.

Police have alleged on April 22, three boys including a 16-year-old from Winston, and a 14 and 15 year old from Pioneer stole a white LandCruiser from a Mount Isa business on May Downs Road.

The vehicle was found damaged just after midday that day.

The three teens have each been charged with four counts of enter and commit and enter with intent, three counts of wilful damage, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The 16-year-old Winston boy, who has been remanded in custody, was also charged with one count of possession of a weapon, and will face Mount Isa Children’s Court on May 1.

The 14-year-old Pioneer boy has been remanded in custody and will face Mount Isa Children’s Court on May 27.

Only days before that incident, Police alleged a 16-year-old boy from Winston entered a property on Labuan Street in Soldiers Hill on April 19, and stole a silver Toyota LandCruiser.

The next day the LandCruiser was found damaged on Maxime street.

He was charged with two counts each of fraud and serious assault of a police officer, and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, obstruction, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and attempted enter premises.

The 16-year-old has been remanded in custody and will face Townsville Children’s Court on May 6.
