A TEENAGE girl has been taken to hospital after an e-scooter crash in Townsville City on Monday.

Paramedics were called to Hanran and Stanley streets about 12.30pm after reports an e-scooter had collided with a car.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the teenager was treated for minor abrasions and taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.

She said reports indicated the young woman was riding an e-scooter on the footpath when it collided with a reversing vehicle.

Police are aware of the incident.

At a Queensland government roundtable in November key stakeholders discussed stricter e-scooter regulations following a spate of crashes across the state and the death of a man in Brisbane in July.

The State Government is set to introduce new legislation in response to the issue.
