North Queensland wrestlers will be out in force to stamp their dominance and repel a southern invasion this Saturday at the Warehouse.
It will be the first time Queensland Wrestling Alliance (QWA) has used the Flinders Street venue for the adults only Palm Trees and Pile Drivers event which promises plenty of action in the ring but strictly no nudity.
QWA stalwart Seth Tylors said he was putting his title belt into the ring against southerner Certified Papi with the QWA tag team title also on the line.
“As always, far North Queensland tends to be kind of forgotten. But we are absolutely showing why we are the best professional wrestling in far North Queensland at Palm Trees and Pile Drivers,” he said.
“This card is stacked. You’ve got the walking headline Certified Papi, whose ego is as loud as his wardrobe, and Shinji, the silent storm with a brutal striking style will he making his long awaited debut with both men coming from Brisbane.
“Of course, fan favourite, whether they want it or not, Nikki Van Blair will be coming up from Sydney to make her return, but this time with her PPK tag team partner Frankie B,” he said.
Tylors said the gloves would be coming off at the new venue.
“We don’t have to worry about what we say, we get to strip everything back and just let loose a little bit more.”
“This new spot is a fantastic underground sort of venue that will fit this raw, unfiltered sort of vibe. So it should be really good.
“The Warehouses had some history with Townsville, and it’s fantastic be port of its reopening for live entertainment,” Tylors said.
Doors open at 7pm with action starting at 7.30pm and For tickets to the 18 plus event at the Warehouse this Sunday go to www.qldwa.com.au/
