THE Mount Isa Rodeo wasn’t just about bucking bulls and good music this year, with a red dirt wedding bringing a romantic twist.
On Monday at midday, the rodeo fell silent to witness a wedding like no other.
Two-time Australian Bareback Bronc champion, and three time and current Mount Isa champion Fred Osman from Cameron’s Corner in the far west of New South Wales married Canadian cowgirl Kyla Dolen.
A horse carried the rings, and cowboys made a guard of honour for the couple in what became one of the most breathtaking moments of the rodeo.
An hour later, Osman defended his Open Bareback title, winning with 160 points over Cody Tyrrell (155pts) and Jarrod McKane (152pts).
