A man who appeared on a BINGE Australian reality TV series last year will go to trial after being charged with stalking.

FBoy Island Australia 2023 contestant Riccardo Valenza was first charged with one count of unlawful stalking on June 4 this year after police allege he stalked a Queensland woman between December 8, 2022 to June 29, 2023.

It’s alleged the veterinarian stalked the woman while he lived between Townsville and the Sunshine Coast.

On Tuesday morning the 30-year-old’s charge was mentioned in Townsville Magistrates Court where a representative from his legal team appeared by phone on his behalf and said they received instructions from Mr Valenza to head to trial.

He told the court the trial is expected to take one day, and sought a date for the new year.

Police prosecutor Joseph Curtain said the prosecution office had not been notified about the trial, and said he would need time to check witness availability times before suggesting a trial date.

Magistrate Viviana Keegan adjourned the matter to November 4, Mr Valenza’s appearance will not be required.
