An elderly woman is in a critical condition following a single-vehicle traffic on the Bruce Highway just north of Townsville.
Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed at 8pm that the victim was being transported to Townsville University Hospital following the accident at Bluewater at 6.53pm.
A QAS spokesman said her condition was “critical”.
Queensland Police Service confirmed the highway was blocked to both south-bound and north-bound traffic for about an hour.
The notorious highway reopened as of about 8.30pm.
Queensland Fire Department crews also attended the accident near the Setter Road intersection.
