North Queensland’s first Aldi store opens in Townsville this morning, promising affordable groceries and regular specials for families. See the ‘must try’ items.

In just hours, Townsville’s first Aldi will swing open its doors, promising to deliver affordable groceries and regular ‘special buys’ for North Queensland families.

Wednesday morning’s opening at Willows marks the first Aldi store in North Queensland and will offer an exclusive range of high-quality products at low prices, helping the community combat cost of living pressures.

The 1379sq m custom-designed storefront has self-check-outs, a modern interior design and a simple layout so customers can easily navigate the savings on offer.

In true Aldi fashion, the store will be packed with award-winning fresh produce delivered daily, 100% Australian meat and iconic Specials Buys.

Aldi’s Queensland managing director Bronwyn Post said now more than ever, it’s important Aussies have access to affordable groceries.

“It’s truly a pleasure for us to be able to reach a whole new community of people with our ‘Good Different’ shopping experience,” she said.

Ms Post also said Townsville customers new to the Aldi experience may notice a few differences from other supermarkets such as a range of exclusive brands and trolley tokens for 99 cents.

“These differences allow us to cut out unnecessary costs and pass these savings on to customers. Last year alone, we delivered $3.1 billion in savings directly to customers. That’s real money back in the pockets of Australian families,” Ms Post said.

Aldi’s ‘price promise’ has stayed the same from the day they opened their first store, over 20 years ago, saying they won’t be beaten on the cost of your weekly shop.

“We look forward to welcoming the residents of Townsville to the store so they can discover the savings that can be made for themselves,” Ms Post said.

Townsville residents can experience Aldi’s famous Special Buys aisle with new products going on sale every Wednesday and Saturday.

Aldi, Australia’s best-rated supermarket has arrived in Townsville.

The Townsville store will offer an exclusive range of Special Buys for the grand opening including a 10kg Front Load Washing Machine for just $399 and a 32” Philips HD LED Android TV for just $189.

For Townsville locals who are shopping at Aldi for the first time, Aldi’s shopping expert Kylie Warnke has curated a list of “must try” products like Di San Pre Wash Stain Remover for $2.15, Urban Eats Soup Dumplings for $9.99, Jindurra Station Porterhouse Steak for $7.00, Emporium Selection Triple Cream brie for $4.99, 1kg of Lazzio Coffee Dark Beans for $12.99 and Moser Roth Dark Sea Salt Chocolate Block for $3.49.

Aldi, Australia’s best-rated supermarket has arrived in Townsville with a new store at the Willows Shopping Centre opening on Wednesday, November 22.

Aldi Australia recently won Finder’s ‘Green Supermarket of the Year’ award with all Aldi Australia stores, offices and warehouses fully powered by renewable electricity and the Townsville store is no exception.

Aldi at The Willows will be open for business from 8.30am Wednesday, November 22.
