JASMINE “Jazzy” Harper, 6, loves to “spread a little Jazzy sunshine” by making strangers smile, and she hasn’t let the pandemic stop her.
Jazzy said she and her mother, Gwen Harper, enjoyed drawing a chalk rainbow and Easter egg and penning a “Happy Easter: Thank You Workers” message.
“We wrote thank you to the workers who are risking getting coronavirus,” she said.
“I’m hoping the (message) will spread my jazzy sunshine.”
Ms Harper said she was happy her daughter was able to make strangers and workers smile from their Blackmans Bay home.
“We wanted to make sure all people who are working are being appreciated,” she said.
Jazzy said she was excited to celebrate her seventh birthday soon, which will be dragon themed.
She said she was looking forward to playing with her friends once life returns to normal.
“I hope everyone stays safe and (does) not get coronavirus,” she said.
Ms Harper said she was encouraging her children to write down fun things they look forward to doing after isolation and put them in a special “Corona Vase”.
“The children write the notes themselves to make it feel even more real, and we parents have put in our own too,” she said.
“It has really helped us all get over (the) sadness at missing out.”
She said the activities they were most looking forward to included camping, visiting grandparents and cousins, swimming, and school.
