One was believed to be a dispute between neighbours, the other suspicious

Two firearms were discharged in two separate disputes overnight in the state’s north.

LAST night and early this morning police in the state’s north attended two separate shootings.

The first shooting happened at about 6.30pm, Tuesday evening, when a firearm was intentionally discharged within a home in South Launceston.

There was only one man present in the home and property was damaged, however no people were injured because of the shooting.

Tasmanian Police investigations indicate that the incident was targeted and isolated, and may be connected to an ongoing dispute between neighbours.

Early this morning at 2am, both Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania responded to reports of man being shot in his home in Kings Meadows.

The 44-year-old man was taken to the Launceston General Hospital with non-life-threatening

injuries.

The suspects are described as two males, wearing all black clothing.

The incident is believed to be perpetrated by persons known to each other, there is no ongoing

risk to members of the community.

Tasmania Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shootings and wish to hear from anyone who may have information relating to the matter, or who may have witnessed anything in either South Launceston or Kings Meadows.
