Motorcycle rider caught 60km/h over the limit near northern school
A man’s bike has been confiscated after he was caught doing 117km/h in a 50km/h zone near a school in Tasmania’s north.

A MOTORBIKE rider has had his bike confiscated after being caught riding 117km/h in a 50 zone near Summerdale Primary School in Launceston.
Members of Northern Road and Public Order Services detected the yellow Ducatti motorbike travelling more than 60km/h above the speed limit on Stanley St at Summerhill at 1.50pm.
Police intercepted the motorcycle and rider adjacent to the school.
The 24-year-old male rider had his bike confiscated for 28 days and will be proceeded against for traffic related offences.
