FOR sale or lease to a community group: a town hall in a remote Tasmanian town.
The West Coast Council is hoping someone will put up their hand to use and maintain the Zeehan Town Hall or buy it and put it to another use during a second call for interest.
The council has opened a second expressions of interest process after a lacklustre response to its original call for someone to use, actively maintain or develop the hall.
It is also now calling for buyers who might turn the facility into a residential or commercial development.
The hall was handed back to the council in June last year by the Zeehan Gem and Mineral Association who had owned the structure for just over a decade.

Leasing the facility by a community group or commercial business would required the lessee to comply with the Building Act, taking the place of council as the owner.
