A SIMPLE act of kindness by a Launceston couple has restored country singer Adam Brand’s faith in humanity in a world ‘going crazy’.

The Dirt Track Cowboys, The Anzac and Good Things in Life singer posted a four minute video on his Facebook page on Saturday to “share a little feel-good story”.

The post has now gone somewhat viral with commenters glad to hear the spirit of mateship is alive and well.

Jan Hubbard commented: “That is a wonderful thing to happen. It’s encouraging to know there are honest and caring people around. Best Wishes to you and Peter and Nancy. This is a beautiful experience.”

In the video Brand says he was sitting at an airport on Saturday morning having a coffee and waiting for a friend to arrive.

When he did, they hopped in a car and headed for Echuca in Victoria for a monster truck show.

“We’re about 45-minutes down the road and we stop and we’re going to get a roll or something from the bakery and I’ve been searching for my wallet,” Brand says in the video.

He said after turning the car over trying to find it, he realised he must have left it at the airport.

“I try and get online and see if there’s a number to call, no number to call – submit a thing by email and they get back to you in 24 hours.

“I’m going crazy here because I’ve got to go to Sydney tomorrow and all kinds of stuff and no wallet, no ID, no license, no credit cards, nothing.”

Brand decided to drive back to the airport.

“I was just thinking to myself, ‘well, I wonder if there’s still honest people in the world, or what’s going to happen?’.

“Sitting next to the seat where I was sitting is Peter and Nancy from Launceston.

“I’m frantically looking around, I’m looking under the seat going; ‘Oh no, I’ve lost my wallet, I’ve lost my wallet, it’s going to be a pain’.

“Then they look at me and go ‘are you Adam?’. And I said ‘yes’. And they go ‘and you’re from Runaway Bay?’. And I said ‘yes’. And they say ‘we’ve got your wallet, we’ve got it safe here’.

Brand said his heart melted when they pulled out his wallet.

“I just thought to myself, ‘wow, what an amazing thing to happen. There’s still wonderful honest people.”

Brand asked anyone who knows the couple from Launceston Tasmania to “give ‘em a big hug”.

“Next time I’m in Tassie or in Launnie, I’m going to catch up with them and when I get back on the road, give them tickets to my show.”

Brand said the “beautiful” act of kindness saved him a “whole lot of frustration and headache”.

He said the pair were country music fans and he gave them a hug and took a photo with them.

“From the bottom of my heart Peter and Nancy, thank you, god bless you and everyone else.

“The world is going crazy right now, but let’s not forget that we’re all still neighbours, brothers and sisters, Aussies and we’re still there to help each other out, and today, Peter and Nancy, you saved me from a lot of pain over the next few days, so thank you.”

Brand asked everyone to “take a look at the good things around us”.
