The mystery winner of the $30m Oz Lotto division one winning ticket has finally been found, with a Burnie man now $30 million richer from this week’s draw.

The man said that he had only found out he was the winner when he took his ticket in store to check the results.

“I had heard there was a big win in Tasmania,” the Burnie resident said.

“I play Oz Lotto each week, but I didn’t for a moment think it was me.

“I know I’ve won $30 million, but I’ll keep playing Oz Lotto – I’ve already got my ticket for next week!”

The winning ticket, purchased at Upper Burnie Newsagency & Post Office, will reportedly go toward looking after his family who are his “first priority”.

“It gives me money for a new house and to take care of my family,” he said.

“I want to make sure everyone’s comfortable.”

EARLIER: The store that sold Tasmania’s mystery $30 million Oz Lotto ticket has been revealed, with the lucky winner still yet to be found.

Upper Burnie Newsagency and Post Office is confirmed to be the seller of the winning ticket which store manager Jeremy Turner says has been “due to happen”.

“We last sold a division one winning entry about two years ago – it was a $2 million prize in TattsLotto,” Mr Turner said.

“We hope our winner checks their ticket soon!”

The Tasmanian entry was the only division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1539 on August 15.

The Lott representatives have confirmed that there is still plenty of time for the winner to come forward, with 12 months available to collect their winnings.

August 16: A lucky Tasmanian has won a $30m lottery jackpot, but the grand prize has so far gone unclaimed.

The Oz Lotto jackpot was draw on Tuesday, and the mystery Tasmanian won the entire division one prize.

Those who entered the draw are being urged to check their tickets.

“Someone has become a midweek multi-millionaire but possibly doesn’t know it yet. We can’t wait for them to discover this winning news! Just imagine how $30 million might change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket.”

The location the wining ticket came from will be revealed on Thursday to allow the winner to come forward anonymously.

It’s the second Oz Lotto prize won in Tasmania this year, after a syndicate of 24 people won $10m in February.
