One of the state’s most iconic tourist attractions has been listed for sale for almost $4m.
After 15 years of running the Zoodoo Zoo, owner and managing director of Zoodoo Zoo, Donna Cuttriss said it was “time for a change”.
Ms Cuttriss confirmed to the Mercury on Wednesday afternoon that the zoo had been listed for sale by Finn Business Sales.
The business has been listed online through Finn Business Sales at a price of $3,750,000.
Ms Cuttriss said putting the zoo up for sale was a difficult decision, but that running the Zoo for the past 15 years had been a “pleasure and an honour”.
There are no plans to close the zoo, with Ms Cuttriss saying they were selling the business with the intention of the new business owner to continue its operation.
She said she was confident that new owners would bring “fresh ideas and new opportunities” to both the business and its staff.
“I am very proud to look back at what we have achieved and the improvements and enhancements that we have introduced in recent years,” Ms Cuttriss said.
“The organisation now not only has a strong animal welfare and environmental focus, but a strong foundation on which to further develop.”
The zoo was established in 1999 by Ms Cuttriss’s father, Trevor Cuttriss.
There are currently 17 full-time equivalent staff employed at the zoo.
The 450 acre property consists of established zoo grounds, vacant agricultural land and a large wildlife reserve on the Coal River Tier.
