It will be a far cry from the snowy weather of the north pole when Santa comes to town on Saturday, with Hobart temperatures expected to reach a balmy 28 degrees.
Thousands of people are expected to converge on the CBD for the annual Christmas Pageant.
Senior meteorologist with the Bureau of Meteorology Angus Hines said after South Australia bore the brunt of warm temperatures this week the heat would spread east bringing higher temperatures to Victoria and Tasmania.
He said much of Tasmania would have “pleasant” temperatures in the mid to upper 20s before a band of clouds forecast to bring showers and possibly storms would pass Tasmania on Sunday.
Temperatures in Victoria are expected to be between 8 and 14 degrees warmer than the November average, Mr Hines said.
The Christmas pageant starts at 1030am on the corner of Argyle St and Liverpool on Saturday.
The parade then makes its way along Liverpool St, before turning up Harrington St, and then on to Collins St.
