VOTE NOW: Tasmania’s best childcare educator and centres 2025

Childcare educators are vital in shaping the minds of our youngest Tasmanians, so who’s the best in the state? From 100+ nominations, the shortlist has been decided and it’s now time to VOTE.

The search for Tasmania's best childcare educator for 2025 is on.

They say the first 1000 days of a child’s life are crucial for their development and have the longest lasting impact on the rest of their lives.

Which is why childcare educators are so important in shaping the minds of our youngest Tasmanians, and why more than 100 were nominated by Mercury readers as we highlight the state’s best.

Reader Sally Momoko said childcare educators “need true recognition for the truly magnificent work they all do”.

“Without the work they do, Australia would loose a significant proportion of its workforce,” she said. “True recognition should be a permanent salary increase to a liveable wage, a wage that allows education workers to thrive!”

Amy Dance-Clark agreed as she nominated the team at Adventure Patch at Mountain View.

“ALL educators (and also admins) need acknowledgment, they know us, our family and are always sharing stories at the end of the day about the fun, interactions and little things that make them special,” she said.

And reader Billie Cowell said early years education and care professionals were “the hardest working, most maligned workers in the education sector”.

“Early years education professionals don’t just care or wrangle, they advocate for the children in their services, create opportunities for learning, facilitate the development of secure and reciprocal friendships, keep them safe from cultural harm, support them, trust them, celebrate them and their families,” she said.
