The fire started in the front area of the house, with early estimates of damage at about $200,000.
The occupant of the home was not there when the fire broke out.
Neighbour Greg Perry said it sounded like a “fire cracker going off.”

Hiker rescued from Frenchmans Cap, West Tasmania
Wednesday, November 10
Tasmania Police are urging hikers to be properly prepared for their trips after a man had to be flown out of Frenchmans Cap on the West Coast early this morning.
The hiker had activated a personal locater beacon and was found by rescuers approximately two kilometres from his signal with symptoms of fatigue before being transported out of the park by the Westpac Rescue helicopter.
“The individual involved had an out-of-date PLB, making it difficult to locate him once teams were on site,” said Inspector Steve Jones.
“As we get closer to summer it’s important for everyone to remember to be prepared, with up-to-date equipment.”
In light of the rescue officers are reminding those who set out in the wilderness to research their intended trip, take appropriate equipment, carry a fully charged mobile phone and download the Emergency+ app.

House fire, Launceston
Monday, November 8
A young man has escaped uninjured despite failing to wake after fire alarms sounded when a fire broke out in his Launceston home.
Fire crews were called to the Waveney Street address about 10am on Monday morning after receiving a call from a neighbour who noticed smoke and flames.
James Foster from Launceston Fire Brigade said the fire started in a wall cavity space.
“On arrival we noticed a small room full of smoke, a small area alight. We gained access through the wall space and extinguished the fire,” he said.
“The big thing is that if this occurred at a different time, at night, that’s a bedroom where someone could have been sleeping.”
Mr Foster said they helped the young man evacuate the home and he was checked over by paramedics.
“The fire was spreading for a while in the wall cavity, he’s a very very lucky, very fortunate young man,” he said.
Early estimates suggest the damage bill is at least $10,000, largely due to smoke damage.
Mr Foster said an electrical inspector would confirm the cause of the fire.
