Following ceremonies in Burnie and Launceston, the University of Tasmania summer graduations started in Hobart on Tuesday in the Federation Concert Hall and will continue until Saturday.
To ensure all ceremonies are delivered in line with COVID-safe requirements, the university is holding a larger number of smaller ceremonies.
Lauren Wiggins from Midway Point graduated with a Bachelor of Education in March, but was unable to attend a ceremony in person until yesterday.
The 24-year-old has been teaching at the Sorell School and been offered a permanent position.
“It’s been a crazy year – I’m glad we came out on top and school finishes in two days so I’m looking forward to the end of year celebrations,” she said.
Vice-Chancellor Rufus Black said this year’s graduates had all demonstrated courage, resilience and determination.
