The Smith Street Band to play in Launceston and Hobart as the act reveals tentative release date of mid-2025 for new album

The Smith Street Band is no stranger to Tasmania and is heading back to the state for a run of shows as they prepare to release album number seven.

The Smith Street Band is heading back to Tasmania, and the pop-punk act is also unveiling tentative release plans for a new album.

The Melbourne quintet, named after a famous street in their hometown – which none of its members has lived on – is playing at Lonnies on October 4 before heading to Hobart the following day to perform at the Uni Bar.

The Smith Street Band recently celebrated its 15-year anniversary.

The act began as an outlet for frontman Will Wagner before branching out into a full-fledged band and releasing six albums.

In a statement, the band said the dates are part of a wider tour called “Odds and Ends”.

“It’s not an Australian Tour – sorry WA & SA – it’s not a regional tour, it’s a gaggle of gigs, it’s the Odds & Ends Tour,” the band said.

“The Smith Street Band have gone from playing house parties, storm drains and pretty much anything in between to being one of the most energised and talked about punk-rock bands in Australia.

“The Smith Street Band have recently started writing their seventh album, expected for release in mid-2025; it will follow their 2022 album ‘Life After Football’ and the #1 ARIA Album ‘Don’t Waste Your Anger’ from 2020.”
