UPDATED: HOBART hotter than Darwin? You better believe it.

After a week of feeling like Hobart was sliding back into winter, the mercury is on an upward trajectory yet again.

Weatherzone reported Hobart was sitting at 34.1 degrees at 3pm today — eight degrees hotter than Darwin.

The temperature is forecast to drop to about 18C overnight in the southern city, with tomorrow set to peak at just 21C.

Throughout the week it is forecast for temperatures to sit in the 20s, with the weekend hitting the 30s again.

EARLIER: THE last days of summer are upon us, but there’s still time to get in a swim at the beach with the temperature set to reach 31C in Hobart on Monday. Siblings Rita (left) and Vincent (far right) Van Loon, of Sandy Bay, yesterday soaked up the sun at Long Beach with sisters Alexa and Nina Eberle, of Mount Stuart. A very hot start to March is also forecast with the temperature set to rise into the 30s over the weekend.
