A VEHICLE travelled for more than 30 kilometres after police used road spikes before it crashed in the state’s North West, authorities say.
Police said that just before noon on Tuesday, a white Ford Falcon sedan evaded police in Upper Burnie.
Police said they successfully deployed spikes on Old Surrey Rd, Burnie, before the vehicle continued onto the Bass Hwy and travelled to Ulverstone where it crashed in Lovett St.
Three men and a girl were taken into custody and transported to the Burnie Police Station.

EIGHT ‘FOREST DEFENDERS’ ARRESTED AFTER SAWMILL SIT IN
10.15am
EIGHT Bob Brown Foundation protesters have been arrested after an early morning sit-in at McKays sawmill in Brighton.
According to the Bob Brown Foundation 27 protesters shut down McKay sawmill in Brighton, calling for an end to native logging.
People have locked themselves to machinery and entrance gates.
“McKay’s are accepting logs from contentious native forests including old-growth and rainforests and this has to stop,” Dr Lisa Searle, the BBF’s native forest campaign organiser said.
“Todays’ protest follows on from recent protests in the native forests of Wentworth Hills, including when four defenders were arrested last week shutting down old-growth logging.
“Our takayna/Tarkine blockade is currently defending rainforests and the native forest wood chip mill Artec was shut down earlier this month.”
Early this morning police confirmed the arrest of four protesters.
