State parliament was evacuated, disrupting Tuesday’s sitting, after an alarm sounded and caused the building to be cleared.

MPs, advisers, journalists and members of the public were ordered from the building shortly after 9.30am when the alarm sounded.

The Tasmania Fire Service carried out an inspection of the building to determine the cause of the alarm.

They cleared the fault and around 100 people impacted have been allowed back in.
