THE next stage of the Freycinet Lodge’s multimillion-dollar upgrade has been unveiled by RACT and promises comfort at the highest level.
Six new Mountain Terrace rooms opened to the public yesterday and RACT chief executive Harvey Lennon said the contemporary rooms would be enjoyed by all visitors.
“The Mountain Terrace rooms feature four king rooms and two family rooms and face the Hazard Mountain ranges,” he said

“The occupancy sales well exceeded expectations and there has been huge interest interstate and overseas.”
Initial plans for the Lodge upgrade included an extension of the hotel’s footprint into Freycinet National Park, which sparked strong opposition from community and conservation groups.
However, RACT backed down and revised its plans to stay within its exisiting boundaries.
Wilderness Society campaign manager Vica Bayley said the lodge was a win-win for the community and sustainable tourism.
“Not only does it maintain the integrity of the national park but I think it stands as a model for engagement with the community,” he said.
