A Northern Tasmanian mum-to-be has become an overnight millionaire after discovering she held a winning ticket to Lotto’s Weekday Windfall.
Checking her ticket in the early hours of the morning having been unable to sleep, she says winning $1m left her speechless in disbelief.
“This is crazy,” she said.
“Wow! It doesn’t feel real. We have a baby on the way, and this will be a huge help.
“It was about 2am and I was struggling to sleep – a lot of tossing and turning because of the baby kicking.
“My husband was already getting ready because he was starting work at 4am, and he came over and said, “Did you win? Is that win yours?
“We’re both in shock.”
The cheerful winner said the prize would go towards paying off her house.
She was one of two division one winners drawn on Wednesday. The other winner was from New South Wales.
