Focus remains crucial

A Right2Drive spokesperson said while Australia had many amusing road signs, drivers must ensure their attention was always on the road.

“Common distractions outside the car include looking at billboards, staring at road construction or accidents, or being startled by sirens wailing,” they said.

“Taking your eyes off the road for even a second or two significantly increases your chances of having an accident.

“Keep in mind that distracted driving slows your reaction time, and is a major cause of accidents, particularly rear-end crashes.

“For international drivers, familiarising yourself with the local road laws and the driving culture is crucial.

“This knowledge is invaluable in ensuring you receive fair treatment and can navigate post-accident procedures effectively.”
