The weather bureau warns that after a prolonged dry spell slippery roads may make driving conditions dangerous.
Deb Tabor from the Bureau of Meteorology said the low cloud and statewide rainfall experienced yesterday, followed by a cool southerly change is to blame for the expected conditions.
She warned that temperatures in the Central Plateau could drop to subzero overnight and early tomorrow morning.
“Take cautions on the road if you are driving Monday and Tuesday,” she said.
The thick low cloud experienced across much of the state yesterday should clear overnight reducing the chance of rain on Tuesday.
Burnie and Launceston will see temperatures drop to 3 degrees tomorrow while Hobart will see a minimum of 5 degrees.
Peaks in Tasmania’s south were dusted with snow over Monday.
Temperatures across the state are not expected to reach 20 degrees today.
