A Tasmania Police officer has been sacked for stealing, and possessing and using an illicit drug.
Tasmania Police confirmed this afternoon the Commissioner of Police stood down a 33-year-old male constable yesterday following an investigation.
“The investigation established that the constable had stolen items from Tasmania Police, and had possessed and used illicit drugs (testosterone),” Acting Deputy Commissioner Donna Adams said.
“The officer was charged and prosecuted with stealing, and the possession and use of a controlled drug and possession of a thing used for the administration of a controlled drug.”
The constable from Southern Tasmania was dismissed following the prosecution.
