TASMANIA Police is responding to a report of an alleged assault at the Risdon Prison complex this morning.
It is understood that one person was injured during the incident and was receiving medical treatment this afternoon.
In a statement, police said there were witnesses to the incident and it appeared the parties involved were known to each other.
Bellerive CIB is investigating.
