UPDATE: Police car in two-car crash at Launceston CBD intersection
UPDATED: A Tasmania Police vehicle has been involved in a two car crash in a CBD this morning. Early indications of what happened have been revealed in initial investigations.

UPDATE: INITIAL investigations indicate a marked police car involved in a crash with a black van at a Launceston intersection on Monday morning was travelling through a green light on Brisbane St when it was hit.
The collision between the work van and police car occurred about 9.15am.
“Initial investigations indicate the van was travelling south when it collided with the police car which was travelling east through a green light,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
The police car appeared to have spun 180 degrees at the intersection of Brisbane and Tamar Streets after its rear left hand side was impacted by the front left corner of the van.
There were no injuries sustained as a result of the crash.
Police are investigating the incident and have asked witnesses to contact Launceston police on 131 444.

POLICE are investigating a two car crash at a Launceston intersection involving a marked Tasmania Police vehicle about 9.30am on Monday morning.
The police car appeared to have spun 180 degrees at the intersection of Brisbane and Tamar Streets after its rear left hand side was impacted by the front left corner of a black work van.
Police attended the scene and controlled traffic until tow trucks removed both vehicles.
Motorists were asked to avoid the area until the scene was cleared just after 10am.
No serious injuries were reported.
