THERE remains no timeline for the Hobart section of the Tasman Highway to be closed for the lifting of a pedestrian bridge.
The $11 million Bridge of Remembrance will create a pedestrian link between the Hobart Cenotaph and the Queens Domain.
A Hobart City Council spokesman said on Friday the council was still waiting on a new date for the lifting of the span by contractor Fulton Hogan.
The bridge lift was originally planned for the weekend of October 12-14, but was delayed because the contractor was not satisfied with the finish of the cladding.
The lift was rescheduled to the weekend of November 2-4, but was cancelled because of bad weather.
Bad weather once again foiled plans for the works to happen on the November 23-25 weekend.
The bridge will commemorate 100 years since the end of World War I.
When the bridge lift happens the Tasman Highway will be closed between the Tasman Bridge and Brooker Avenue.
The Hobart City Council website, which lists details of the road closure, directs questions about the project to a phone number and email address for Fulton Hogan.
However, that phone number goes to a recorded message which directs callers to the Hobart City Council website and social media pages.
