Stellar sight for state’s space scanners with International Space Station flying overhead

The International Space Station will be visible with the naked eye every night for at least the next week night as it passes overhead. SEE THE VIEWING TIMES

TASMANIANS will be able to see the International Space Station with the naked eye every night for at least the next week night as it passes overhead.

NASA says the ISS will be able to be seen for about two minutes from 6.39pm.

The space station will be visible every day until July 2 and the exact time and co-ordinates can be found at NASA’s Spot the Station website.

See the latest sightings times for Hobart, Launceston and Burnie.

The 108m-long station – which is jointly owned by the United States, Russia, Canada, Europe and Japan – has been orbiting Earth since 1998.
