THE State Government has revised a plan that would involve building a roundabout through the Tasmania Golf Club in Cambridge as part of upgrades to the Hobart Airport to Midway Point causeway.
Minister for Infrastructure Jeremy Rockliff said he had asked the Department of State Growth to develop some additional options, taking into consideration the feedback that was received.

CLARENCE CITY COUNCIL SUPPORTS CLUB ON HIGHWAY PROPOSAL
“It is clear from feedback to this consultation that the public has concerns regarding the initial options canvassed, including in relation to land at the Tasmania Golf Club,” Mr Rockliff said.
In an attempt to create better traffic flow, the original proposal included two options for the upgrade, the other being to build the highway and roundabout on private property on the southern side of the existing road, which would affect bushland believed to contain two of Tasmania’s endemic native orchids, both classified as critically endangered.
Clarence City Council did not support the proposals.
Mr Rockliff said stakeholders and the community will be consulted following the development of revised options before a preferred approach is finalised.
