Spectra beams a beacon of light to Tasmanians from Mona in Berriedale

In these dark times Tasmanians are being encouraged to put their eyes to the skies as Mona turn on the popular Spectra light work. Watch the live stream.

ON this cloudy night, Mona’s popular Spectra artwork is once again beaming into the night sky from the museum’s Berriedale site.

From sunset tonight Spectra will run each Saturday night until coronavirus restrictions are lifted and the museum reopens.

Spectra, by Japanese-born, Paris-based artist Ryoji Ikeda, has been a highlight of Dark Mofo festivals and is now part of Mona’s permanent collection.
